Finish the job. Not another hour of paperwork.

The work happens on site. The forms, photos, compliance records and invoices somehow end up everywhere else. We connect the two, without making your engineers learn five new systems.

Field to office, connected.

Roofers Edge, which we built for SJ Roofing, connects field activity, photographs and timesheets to management review, invoicing and visibility. The people on site capture the work and make the calls; the office reviews and invoices from the same record.

The admin starts when the tools go down.

  • Paperwork in pockets. Start-of-job forms and site checklists are hard to find when they are needed.
  • Photos without context. Evidence sits on individual phones, detached from the job.
  • The invoice gap. Office teams ask for the same missing detail before a job can be billed.

From site activity to an invoice-ready handover.

Where it helps

Three jobs after the job.

  • Enquiry to quote

Web forms, phone notes and emails turned into one tidy enquiry, missing details chased and a draft quote ready for you to price.

  • Site visit to report

Notes, photos and measurements turned into a draft report in your usual format, ready to check and sign.

  • Timesheets to invoices

Hours checked against the job, long days flagged to a supervisor, invoices prepared once the work is approved.

What we take on

  • Enquiry capture and quote drafting
  • Site reports from notes, photos and measurements
  • Timesheet checks and supervisor review
  • Invoices prepared from approved work
  • Job, photo and document records kept together
  • Connections to your job software and accounts package
  • Mobile-first start-of-job and end-of-day forms
  • Worker documents and management visibility in one place

Usually built with

  • Power Apps
  • Power Automate
  • CRM
  • Forms & capture

Technologies we work with. Product names and logos belong to their owners, who do not endorse Boring Future.

What stays with your team

  • Pricing
  • What the report says
  • The customer, and the call about what’s worth doing

AI prepares. People decide. Routine actions run only within limits you agree.

What stays yours

  • We won’t price your jobs. You know your margins and your customers.
  • If your job software already does it, we’ll show you how rather than build it again.

The evidence. Each with where it came from.

Boring Future delivery

Field → office

Delivered client system; operational workflow outcome, not a quantified saving.

Field paperwork became one connected workflow.

The problem
SJ Roofing managed daily forms, staff records, photographs and invoicing across disconnected paperwork and files.
What was built
Built Roofers Edge, a field-operations app bringing start-of-job and end-of-day forms, photographs, timesheets, worker documentation and invoicing into a shared workflow.
What changed
Staff could submit records from the field and managers could access the information without reconstructing paper trails. No numerical productivity or compliance improvement is claimed.

The same project is shown on Workflow & process automation and Custom AI & automation builds: one piece of work, not 3 separate cases.

Questions. Anything else, just ask.

Ask us directly
We’re a small firm. Is this for us?

Yes. Essentials is built for businesses of 5 to 50 people: a half-day workflow session for £395 + VAT, then fixed-price packages such as Enquiry to quote (£1,750 + VAT) and Survey or site visit to report (£1,950 + VAT).

Will engineers need a complicated new app?

No. The aim is a short workflow built around what people really do on site, on the phone they already carry.

Will it work with our job management software?

If it has an API, exports or a connector, usually. We check in the session.

What is Roofers Edge?

A deployed system for SJ Roofing that connects field activity, photos and timesheets to management review, invoicing and visibility. We don’t claim a performance figure for it.

Can we use photos and signatures?

Where appropriate, yes, with the necessary permissions and safeguards in place.

Does this replace safety checks?

No. It helps capture and route them; competent people remain responsible for the checks and sign-off.
