About Boring Future

The future is
still ours to build.

We are an independent, founder-led consultancy building AI, automation and connected systems around the people who make a business what it is.

Founder / United Kingdom

Keiaan McLean

  • Enterprise data & automation
  • Production systems, not prototypes
  • Experience inside complex UK operations

Keiaan’s background spans service desks, operations, reporting, data analytics and automation. He delivered an enterprise Jira system across KTC Edibles’ UK operations through his first company, working with a food distributor whose annual turnover exceeded £600m at the time.

In facilities management, he built reporting automation, applied AI for work-order analysis and API integrations connecting operational systems. That delivery experience led to his involvement in the company’s AI Working Party alongside senior leadership, and informs the work he leads at Boring Future.

Our conviction

Different people.
Different possibilities.

A company is a collection of perspectives. Experience and curiosity. Caution and ambition. The person who knows the customer, and the new starter who asks why.

We believe technology should make room for those differences. That is the organisation we want to help you build.

Read the full philosophy
The question is also whose perspective you want shaping the company.Human participation has value beyond a benchmark.

Make the systems
ordinary.
Let people be interesting.

The report is there. The history is gathered. The information finds its way.

When technology becomes dependable, it stops demanding the centre of attention. People can get on with thinking, creating, disagreeing and deciding what happens next.

That is what the name Boring Future means. The technology quietly works. The opportunity becomes yours.

What guides the work

01

Build with employees

The people doing the work know the exceptions, the workarounds and what they wish they had time to do. They should help shape the change.

02

Give machines the chores first

Automate the predictable work. Use AI to prepare. Keep responsibility and human relationships where they belong.

03

Protect different perspectives

People’s worth is not an intelligence ranking. Curiosity, disagreement and experience shape the organisation you become.

04

Create possibility

Measure the capacity released and the worthwhile work it enables. Decide what the time is for, then build systems dependable enough to disappear.

Learning from delivery.
Building through Labs.

Some problems repeat. Boring Future Labs develops the patterns, architecture and research that can make the next useful deployment better.

Real work shapes the technology. The technology brings better capability back into real work.
