Boring Future Essentials · For businesses of 5 to 50 people

The admin that shouldn’t still be done by hand. Half a day to find it, a fixed price to fix it.

We find the work people shouldn’t still be doing by hand. If it’s worth fixing, we set up one fixed-price package to take it off your team, and your team stays in charge.

Time

Half a day

  • We map the one job that eats the most time.
  • You get a written recommendation, even if it’s “leave it alone”.
  • On-site or remote. Credited against a package booked within 30 days.

Then one package, from £1,250 + VAT. See every price

What we take off your plate. One job at a time, each at a fixed price.

Every package is one of our standard builds, set up around your business rather than designed from scratch. That’s what keeps the price fixed.

Examples are illustrative: the kind of job each package is for, not named clients.

How it works. Three steps, and you can stop after any of them.

Worth it, or we say so

We only recommend a package when the session shows it should save at least 3 hours a week. At about £22 an hour for admin time, that’s roughly £3,000 a year.

Essentials is for businesses of roughly 5 to 50 people. Bigger, or need something custom? See our services

Some work can run itself. Some needs a person in the loop. Some should be left alone.

Your team stays in charge. Before anything is set up, we agree what the package does on its own, what it prepares for a person, and what it leaves well alone.

Runs itself

The reminders and the checks

Chasers, request lists and routine checks against rules you set. You can always see what it did.

A person in the loop

The drafts

Quotes, reports and replies are prepared, then someone on your team checks them and sends them.

Left alone

The judgement

Pricing, sign-off, the odd cases and your customers. That’s the job, not the admin.

Spreadsheets are often where the process ended up. That doesn’t mean they need to stay there.

You probably don’t need an AI agent for this. Most of it is reminders, checks and simple rules.

That’s also why there’s no meeting-notes package. If you’re on Microsoft 365 Copilot, Teams already does it, and the session will point you to what you already pay for.

Proof, honestly labelled. Essentials is new, so here’s what we can show and what we’ll measure.

Measured before and after

For every Essentials client we time the job before set-up and again once it’s running. Those numbers go here, with the client’s permission. Until then, we’ll say a package could save a few hours a week, and no more.

Built for businesses like

  • Accountancy practices
  • Builders and roofers
  • Small manufacturers
  • Wholesalers
  • Packaging suppliers

Fair questions. Anything else, just ask.

Is my business the right size?

Essentials is built for businesses of roughly 5 to 50 people. If you’re bigger, or the job needs custom work, our main services start with Discovery & Design instead. Either way, we’ll tell you honestly which fits.

Where does our data live?

Your records stay in the systems you already use: your inbox, your accounts or job software, your shared drive. A package only touches what its job needs, with permissions you agree, and before set-up we’ll tell you in writing what it uses and where. Start with an anonymised example if you like; we agree a secure route before any confidential information is shared.

What happens if we stop?

Monthly support has a three-month minimum, then it’s rolling monthly. The monthly price is what pays for hosting and AI usage, so if you stop, the package stops running and the job goes back to how it’s done today. Anything it has already done stays in your own systems.

Who does the work?

Keiaan McLean, Boring Future’s founder, runs the workflow session and sets up your package. When something needs a fix or a tweak, you can pick up the phone to someone who knows how it was built.

How long does it take?

The session is half a day. If you go ahead, a package takes a couple of weeks to set up. Your team stays involved where it matters: showing us how the job works today, and checking it before it goes live.

Do we need AI for this?

Probably not for most of it. A lot of admin is reminders, checks and simple rules. We use AI where it genuinely helps, like turning site notes into a draft report, and a person checks what it prepares.

What if the session finds nothing worth fixing?

Then the recommendation says so. You keep the map of the job and the written recommendation, and “it’s fine, actually” is a perfectly good answer. We only recommend a package when it should save at least three hours a week.
